Marketing People, Places and Potential Throughout Spain

Soosie was based in Milton Keynes and toured the length and breadth of the UK on the cabaret circuit again, working with many famous names including Jim Davidson and Frank Carson.
The two came together by accident as they were both appearing at the same venue one evening and thought it might be good to combine the two tributes to make one large show with a little more diversity. After working on the new show for a while they took it out on the road. It was an immediate success as they were offered work all over Benidorm within a few days.
The show itself opens with Dolly Parton singing a medley of songs including the big hit Nine to Five. After a couple more solo items she then hands over to Dusty Springfield who comes on and goes straight into the ever popular I Only Want to be With You. There then follows one more set from Dolly, another from Dusty culminating in Liason getting together for the finale. The entire show last about one hour and runs continuous with no more than 10 seconds between change overs. They also incorporate a costume change into the bargain.
From start to finish the two girls interact with the audience and it was clear to see videos of the stars had been studied.
I thought the show was very good, entertaining and quite unique and well worth the trip into the Old Town.
Cheryl and Soosie are currently working on a new show entitled ‘Band of Gold’ which will be a combination of Motown and Soul music from the 70’s and 80’s. You can catch Liason every Saturday and Sunday at Heroes in La Cala at 23.00 or Tuesdays at the Queen’s Hotel, Benidorm Old Town.
LIASON
A TRIBUTE TO DOLLY PARTON & DUSTY SPRINGFIELD
The Queen’s Hotel, situated in the heart of Benidorm’s Old Town was the venue for this week’s Benidorm article. The show I went along to watch was a duo who call themselves Liason (that’s the way the duo spell it) which is a tribute to the talents of Dolly Parton and Dusty Springfield.
The two performers in question are Cheryl Taylor and Soosie Kaye both who are solo acts in their own right. Cheryl who takes on the role as ‘Dolly’ hails from Burton-on-Trent originally but spent much of her time in London performing in numerous musicals including The Rat Pack, West Side Story and Elvis the Musical. She also went on tour with the legendary Sir Norman Wisdom.
