Owned for the past 4 years by Louis, this friendly little bar hosts Karaoke 6 nights a week and is very popular with the locals and the tourists who return time and time again. Louis runs the Karaoke himself and has his own brand of ‘Camp’ humour which everyone seems to love. He has tried to carry on the tradition of the last owners, Sam & Dave who kept the bar for 13 years much to the delight of the customers.
Back in the UK, Louis ran a very busy pub in Bolton for 9 years before going into semi-retirement over here on the Costa Blanca as he purchased a property around 8 years ago but when the opportunity arose to acquire the Intimate Bar he snapped at the chance.
He employs a staff of just one, Andy who is all the way from Australia and is affectionately known as ‘Skippy’!
You can visit the Intimate bar every night except Tuesday from 21.30 with the Karaoke getting underway at 22.30. The bar prices are very competitive and a warm and friendly welcome is assured.

I took a stroll into the Old Town and called into the Intimate Bar situated just off the walking street on C/ La Palma. The Bar has been in existence in excess of 33 years and is currently with only third owner which must be some sort of record in Benidorm.
Nigel puts the spotlight on a comedian who has been in Benidorm for almost 8 years. Mickey Lewys has a brand of comedy which is sure to suit all tastes. It is filled with madcap humour together with a few impressions which is a certain audience pleaser. I caught his show at the Tower Lounge on Calle Gerona and thoroughly enjoyed what I was seeing. Although Mickey is now a comedian he started out in show business as a drummer doubling up on keyboards with a rock band before becoming a Butlin’s Redcoat where he worked for several years. He then became the resident compere at the Piazza Cabaret Room in Great Yarmouth. The band Sweet Illusion approached him to work with them on keyboards and this took him to the Middle East and all over Europe. He then went on to become a solo artiste and worked many Holiday Camps in the UK and the Army circuit in Germany for NAAFI.
Mickey can be seen every night at Steptoe’s on Calle Lepanto and frequently at the Tower Lounge. Well worth a visit!
