‘EXCLUSIVE AMBUSH of Derren Litten’

On Monday 16th November 2009, something unique happened at ‘Sandras’ cabaret bar in Benidorm. Let us give you a little background first. When the very successful comedy series ‘Benidorm’ started in 2007, we wanted to know who wrote it. A good comedy/drama displays talented actors, but we would never know about them if there was not a writer in the first place. An orchestra may have some outstanding musicians, but they would have nothing to play without a composer, and they would not do very well without a conductor. Which brings me on to Derren Litten the writer and Sandy ‘moustache’ Johnson the director.

We were listening to Asa Elliot and I glanced nearby and saw two people I thought I recognised. I whispered to Julie, “(there are two people sitting there who look just like Sandy ‘moustche’ and Derren Litten)”. She looked over and said “it is them”! I went over and tapped Derren on the shoulder, “I might be right and I might be right” I said, then had second thoughts. “Is it Tim” said Derren, (he recognised me from twitter).

We were with Julies mother and sister. Derren and Sandy have not only brought us a fabulous sitcom, they are also great fun to talk to, and made a night of Asa Elliot, Gary George and Wendy Kane a night to remember.

Oh yes. Derren Litten and Sandy Johnson were given their ‘gotcha’ card - it has to be done!
